Over the past few weeks the 9th Judicial Circuit of Florida has taken a big step in automating more of their jury process. On Monday, June 23, I came in early to help Osceola County set up for their first day under the CHT jury platform. I sensed they were nervous. This was not a normal go-live day as they made some significant changes to how they administer their jury operation. They went to a paperless response system where jurors respond to their summons online via Courthouse eResponse or, if the juror has no access to the Internet, complete their questionnaire when they report for service. The question is; how to do this without using any paper?
Courthouse Technologies is pleased to announce that the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida has begun implementation of a new jury system! The circuit, which consists of Orange County (Orlando) and Osceola County (Kissimmee), have entered into a subscription agreement with CHT to implement Courthouse JMS along with Courthouse eResponse, our public facing self-service application; 6 Courthouse Kiosks, and; SummonsDirect, our automated data cleansing, summons printing and mailing service. The project will replace the County's implementation of Jury +, Jury System Incorporated’s jury management system.
We are always communicating and asking our clients about new ideas, policies and procedures they have incorporated (with the CHT platform) that change the way we all view how the modern jury operation should be conducted and how efficiencies can be gained.
