Why a court would purchase software from a small, boutique software vendor rather than from a more conventional, larger corporation? Its an interesting question. It implies that it is riskier to do business with a smaller firm. We know this because big corporations tout their size, the number of employees and resources they have at their disposal as one of their main selling points. At face value, a bigger company feels like a safer pick. However, I believe that picking a vendor because of its size is misleading. Here are 5 reasons why you should think twice before going with a big corporation.
In a previous article, I discussed why Jury Yield is so Important and how increasing your jury yield can lead to efficiency and cost-savings. It is one of the two most important statistics that determine how well you are running your jury operation. The other? Jury Utilization.
A Jury Manager’s source list (or master list) is one of, if not the most important parts of their operation. It is the list they use to randomly select constituents and subsequently summons. Some use the state’s driver’s license database or tax records. Some use a combined list consisting of several sets of information to include as many potential jurors as possible.
