The Court has entered into a 5-year subscription for Courthouse JMS along with Courthouse eResponse, our public facing self-service application for jurors and; SummonsDirect, our automated data cleansing, summons printing and mailing service. The project will replace the County's existing jury management system.

SummonsDirect Saves Orange County, FL 50,000 Summonses in First Year!

Back in February of this year, I wrote an article on how the Courthouse Refund Program has been able to give back over $200,000 to our clients since it started in 2009. That is because when you subscribe to Courthouse JMS or SummonsDirect you only pay for what you mail. Well… the numbers are in and Orange County, FL made a drastic reduction in their first year by cutting their annual summons production by almost 50,000!

9th Circuit of Florida Goes Paperless with Internet Café

Over the past few weeks the 9th Judicial Circuit of Florida has taken a big step in automating more of their jury process. On Monday, June 23, I came in early to help Osceola County set up for their first day under the CHT jury platform. I sensed they were nervous. This was not a normal go-live day as they made some significant changes to how they administer their jury operation. They went to a paperless response system where jurors respond to their summons online via Courthouse eResponse or, if the juror has no access to the Internet, complete their questionnaire when they report for service. The question is; how to do this without using any paper?

CHT Platform Increases Jury Yield in Florida

In a previous blog article, I discussed the importance of achieving a higher jury yield. It is one of the most important statistics in determining the efficiency of your jury operation because it relates to the number of people your office deals with on a daily basis. As I described previously, if your jury yield is going up, it is because more jurors are receiving their summons OR more jurors are responding to their summons. Either way, raising your jury yield is a good trend to have. So, when I came across some statistical reporting from Florida that shows how Courthouse JMS and its peripherals are positively impacting our clients there, I was thrilled to see them saving money and increasing their jury yield!
